Etoro Review

eToro is not a binary option broker but rather a network for social investing and trading. eToro does not offer binary options. It does, however, offer a large number of other financial instruments and assets, including stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies and, depending on the jurisdiction, CFDs, currencies, commodities, indices, conventional listed options and futures.

Social investing networks such as eToro need to be large to provide value to members. The larger the network, the more investors there are to follow and interact with. eToro has more than 40 million registered users worldwide. As of August 2026, it reported approximately 4.36 million funded accounts.

One of the main features that attract people to eToro is the copy feature, known as CopyTrader. If you do not feel that you know enough about a certain market or type of financial instrument, you can choose to copy the trades of an eligible eToro investor. You can devote a certain amount of money to emulate the trades made by a trader of your choice. Copying another investor does not guarantee profitable results.

Short Facts

Trading platform

The trading platform is developed by eToro. It is easy to use and available in several different languages. The platform allows you to trade or invest in several different types of financial instruments and assets, including stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies and, depending on your jurisdiction, CFDs, currencies, commodities and indices. eToro does not offer binary options. In the United States, eligible customers can also trade conventional listed options, which should not be confused with binary options.

The most unique part of the platform is the earlier described CopyTrader function that allows you to automatically mimic another trader’s trades based on how much money you devote to that copy portfolio. Copied positions are generally opened in proportion to the allocation of the investor being copied and the amount you have devoted to the copy. Read more about the copying function developed by eToro.

Trading accounts

eToro generally opens clients as retail customers, although account structure and available services vary by jurisdiction. Eligible clients in certain jurisdictions can request classification as professional clients. eToro also operates the eToro Club, where membership tiers and benefits are generally based on qualifying account balances. Traders who meet additional requirements can apply to eToro’s Pro Investor Program to become eligible to be copied by other users and potentially receive payments based on assets under copy.

They also offer a demo account where you can trade with play money. eToro calls this the Virtual Portfolio and currently provides $100,000 in virtual funds.

Binary option trading

eToro does not offer binary option trading. Binary options should not be confused with conventional options or CFDs. Eligible eToro customers in the United States can trade conventional listed options, while CFDs are available through certain eToro entities outside the United States subject to local regulations.

Stocks are a major part of eToro’s offering. The platform provides access to thousands of individual company shares listed on exchanges in the United States and many other countries. Depending on the position, jurisdiction and use of leverage or short selling, the trade may involve the underlying shares or a CFD rather than direct share ownership.

Bonuses and other perks

eToro does not have a universal 15-25% first-deposit bonus. Promotions and welcome offers vary by country, regulatory entity and time, and some jurisdictions restrict promotional incentives. eToro also operates referral promotions in certain markets. Traders who qualify for the Pro Investor Program can potentially receive payments from eToro based on assets under copy when other users copy their portfolios.
